We are visiting the Mount of the Beatitudes and I for one, am beginning to understand the power of Christ’s messages to us. He is King and Savior, but also counselor and friend…we are among the many pilgrims from all parts of this world who are coming here today to stand in this holy place…it is humbling knowing how perfectly Jesus understood the human condition when we read Matthew 5:3-12
The Mount of Beatitudes is so named for the nine blessings or”beatitudes” with which this famous sermon begins. See Matthew 5:1-12 in order to understand why this destination is so revered by so many pilgrims.
