Cross country road trippin’ with my baby girl who’s relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada. Day 1 began in Washington, DC and meandered through the rolling hills of western Virginia. Above, the countryside of Winchester, VA. Below, a larger than life cross in Bristol, VA. The Volunteer state of Tennessee… Even got a shot of the Sun Sphere …a last bastion of the Worlds Fair. Onward to Nashville!! Home of the Grand Ole Opry! This town was hopping! Quite the night life there but we were too beat from the long day of driving so we settled for … Continue reading Road Trip 2016
The up-and-coming Brooklands area has a few tricks up its sleeves. Busboys and Poets, Brookland Pint, & pizza, Steel Plate and Smith Public Trust. Had the occasion to enjoy dinner at Smith Public Trust this evening, and enjoy we did! Just like that picture, the chef is winking at us with his eclectic, adventuresome menu. The restaurant’s decor is also wink and nod “spare” but homey. We sampled the Pork Belly Bahn MI, the Public Burger, and the Austin Texas Street tacos and we were not disappointed by anything. Spring has sprung all over the country, but nowhere more beautifully than in my new hometown of Washington, DC! We took the ten minute drive into the district today to view the fantastic blossoms that were the gift of the Japanese people to the U.S. 100 years ago.
